Dr. Rebecca Sweet
Dr. Rebecca Sweet grew up in Reed, KY. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Murray State University and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Auburn University. Dr. Sweet has a special interest in pain management, surgery, and orthopedics. She is committed to providing compassionate and progressive medical care. In her free time, she enjoys arts and crafts, spending time outdoors, and cooking. Her home is shared with her husband, Justin, their sons, Hugh and Logan, and their pets.
Dr. Sweet was elected the President of the Madison County Veterinary Medical Association from 2019-2021, the Vice President from 2018-2019, and the Secretary/Treasurer from 2017-2018.
Dr. Rebecca Lofty
Dr. Becca grew up here in Huntsville. She received her Bachelor’s degree at the University of Montevallo. She pursued her childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.and graduated in 2004. Dr. Becca moved home to Huntsville and has since been serving our community with high quality veterinary care. Dr. Becca joined the Green Cove Pet Hospital Team in 2024.
She has trained as a Fear Free Veterinarian to ensure that your pets have the best visits possible and mentors the staff in fear-free handling. Her continuing education has focused on dog and cat behavior. Her professional interests involve preventative medicine (including weight management), dermatology, and internal medicine.
Dr. Becca shares her home with her husband – Kris, Irish Wolfhound – Finnegan and her three cats – Bane, Griff and Echo. Also enjoying her own aquarium, a red-eared slider turtle – Gibby. She enjoys spending time with her son and adorable grandchildren. Her hobbies include reading, gardening and beekeeping.
Dr. Rhoda Stanley
A native of Kentucky, Dr. Rhoda Stanley completed her undergraduate degree at Murray State University before attending Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 1995. Her veterinary career has included work in Virginia, Georgia, Alabama and the United Kingdom. Dr. Stanley joined the Green Cove Pet Hospital Team in 2018.
There is a powerful relationship between people and animals. Studies have shown that this bond can lower stress, increase fitness, improve mental health and bring happiness to individuals with pets. It gives Dr. Stanley great joy to support the human animal bond by partnering with people to give their pets the best quality of life possible.
Dr. Stanley and her husband, also a veterinarian, are the proud parents of two daughters and a son. Poppy, their Jack Russell terrier, has her family well trained and is always the center of attention.
Dr. Stanley enjoys traveling and creating memories with her family. It is her pleasure to volunteer within the community, including sharing her love of veterinary medicine with school children. Dr. Stanley considers it a privilege to be part of the veterinary profession.

Taylor
Taylor joined our team as an Animal Care attendant in March 2024. She graduated from The University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2023 with a Bachelors in Biological Sciences. Her studies focused on mostly marine life and her love for animals has led her to the veterinary field. She hopes to continue her studies in the future for research and care of animals. In her free time she likes to aquascape her fish tanks and play video games.
Allie
Allie was born and raised in Northern California. She worked as a pet groomer from 2017 until 2023 when she found her passion for the medical field. Allie joined the Team at Green Cove Pet Hospital in 2024. She is currently working towards becoming a veterinary assistant while she goes to school to become a phlebotomist but hopes to one day become a registered nurse. On Allie’s free time, she enjoys drawing and playing with her two sons, two cats, and German Shepherd.
Stephanie
Stephanie is a Huntsville native that has been working in the veterinary field since 2018. She graduated from Birmingham-Southern College in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry. Stephanie joined the Green Cove Pet Hospital Team in 2023. Stephanie is currently applying to programs to pursue her doctorate in veterinary medicine. Outside of work, she enjoys trying new food places and hanging out with her lab/great dane mix, Thor.
Shelby
Shelby has been working as a veterinarian assistant since 2018. Shelby is originally from Grove, Oklahoma. She has an associate’s degree in Biological Science from the University of Alabama, Huntsville and hopes to pursue a veterinary doctorate program. She likes to crochet in her spare time. She has one dog, Jimmy, who is full of personality.
Nichola
Nichola has been working as a veterinary assistant since 2017. She is proudly from Houston, Texas and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in May 2021. She joined the Green Cove Pet Hospital Team in August 2021. She is now our Lead Veterinary Assistant. She loves working with clients and their pets, as well as helping their pets live a happy and full life. In her free time, Nichola enjoys spending time with her two horses and she plans to continue her studies in animal nutrition.
Amanda
Amanda grew up north of San Francisco and moved to Alabama in 2010. She and her husband live in Meridianville with their pets that include some crazy cats, a couple of reptiles and a new puppy. She has been working in veterinary hospitals or animal shelters since 2005 and has worked at Green Cove Pet Hospital since November 2017. Amanda has worked in all positions here at Green Cove Pet Hospital and is currently the Administrative Assistant and Customer Service Representative. When she is not working, you can find her reading science fiction novels, painting her nails, or playing video games.
Caitlyn
Caitlyn started as an Animal Care Attendant at Green Cove Pet Hospital in 2018. She is now our Lead Veterinary Surgical Assistant. She spent her early childhood in Madison, AL before moving to Slidell, LA. She graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in May 2018 before joining the Green Cove Pet Hospital team in November 2018. She has always had a passion for animals and their well-being. In her free time, Caitlyn enjoys spending time with family. She also loves to read a good book while snuggling with her Maltese, Gigi.
Makenzie
Makenzie joined the Green Cove Pet Hospital Team in January 2023. She is from Snead, Alabama and loves being involved with the agricultural community. She is working towards becoming a Veterinary Assistant and possibly continuing her studies to become a Licensed Veterinary Technician. She loves helping the animals feel loved and happy when they are in for their visit. In her free time, Makenzie loves being on her family’s farm helping with livestock and gardening.
